Created using acrylic paint and tiny glass beads and completed on December 18th of 2019, this painting represents Liza’s first attempt to explore the surrealist landscape at the focal point of her original song “Glow” through color and line.
“Glow” tells a familiar story of lovers trying to navigate through hardship, rejection and past demons together. “The Forest We Made” is used throughout the song as an allegory to the labyrinth of struggles and pain the two have created together in their lives. The forrest is composed of hard, black and white lines that seem to stretch on forever and never end. But despite this, they cannot bring themselves to give up on finding their way together. Even at their lowest, there is no denying the ”Glow” that is still felt between them, which is symbolized by an enchanting night sky of deep blue high above the forrest swirled with rich copper and soft purples.
